Purpose

Our purpose is multifaceted and impactful. We promote empirically supported high standards and best practices in the fields of substance use disorder (SUD) prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery. By cooperating with various systems of care, we aim to strengthen these systems to produce better outcomes for Missourians with SUD.

Advocacy and Support

We advocate that Missourians support policies and resource requests to reduce the use of and dependence on alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. Additionally, we promote understanding among Missourians that substance use disorders are public health problems requiring active involvement from government leaders, law enforcement, medical professionals, educators, clinical professionals, faith-based organizations, and community organizations to improve prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery efforts.
